Montanita is located on the Ruta del Sol

Below is a list of consideration you have to take care before coming to the village:

• You can find one bank (Banco Bolivariano) open from Wednesday to Sunday (10:30 hs to 16 hs) and two ATM which support the two major nets: Cirrus (Mastercard) and Plus (Visa)
• The most important commerce accept Credit Cards.
• You can change Euros and Traveler Checks but there is no exchange agency.
• You can rent or buy used surf tables (U$S 100 minimum)
• You can eat for U$S2 and at night the offer is better and you can eat for U$S 1.5
• If you want to eat at a good restaurant the minimum is U$S 4.
• There are a lot of English Speakers at town and also French ones and from other Languages (see Communities)
• There is a lot of Design and exclusive Handicraft in Montanita.

Currency

In Ecuador's currency is the U.S. dollar. Certainly we have to come to Ecuador and Montanita with dollars directly.

Prices are also relatively cheaper than many other countries in South America.

Banks & ATMs

In Montanita there is a bank (Banco Bolivariano)  open  Wendesdey to Sunday (10:30 am to 16 pm). This is a "mini" branch can not bear so many transactions.

Instead, you should go to Libertad (1 hour 30 travel) because there are the biggest banks in Ecuador.

As for ATMs, Montanita, there are two, each supporting Master network (Cirrus) and Visa (Plus).

Some businesses allow change Euros and Travelers Checks, but no money exchange.

Almost all shops accept major credit card.

Hospitals

The most southerly town of Montanita: Manglaralto has a public hospital that can deal with any queries.

Either way if there is gravity, can be found in one of the two pharmacies that are in Montanita, since the owners are doctors pharmacies.

Another interesting option is to go to Olon (the next town north) since there can be found many doctors and pharmacies and also a health post.

Veterinary

In Montanita there is a very good vet near the bridge that can help us with any questions relating to pets or animals.

In this wonderful village there are people who lives here and came from all over the world: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, United States, Germany, France, Guyenne, Guadalupe (France), England, Italy, Russian, Spain, Switzerland, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.
