Montañita is situated in the Santa Elena peninsula upon the called "route of the sun" ("Ruta del sol"). 180 km from Guayaquil. In bus you have one hour and a half from Libertad - Salinas (which is the major city in the peninsula) and three hours and a half from Guayaquil (which is the major city of Equator next to Montañita).

• From Quito: direct bus to Guayaquil or to Puerto Lopez (half an hour frequency) or to Libertad (the best option).
• From Guayaquil: direct bus from the bus station, "CLP" transport Company (U$S 5.5)(5 AM,1 PM,5PM) or you can go to Libertad (U$S 3)(15 minutes frequency) and then bus to the town (U$S 1.5)
• From Libertad: take a bus that cover all the sun way and ask the driver to stop in the town.
