Considered to be the capital of surf in Equator, in Montañita you can learn surf (the swell in special times during the day is calm) or to practice in a real power sea.
There are different schools options with teachers who speaks English and also you can rent a board by hours, half day or full day.

It has a power and dangerous point called "La Punta", where you can find a tubular swell and is only recommended for skilled surfers.
The difficult of it apart from the power of the sea is that in the insides you can find rocks.

The maximum wave height is around 10 feet (3 meters).

The good thing about the Point is that the waves is well formed always.
